OH GOD! a hotrod blew up in eskys face!!!

yes you read right. a hotrod blew up in eskimos face while he was vaping... well to be honest it was apparently a battery which blew up, and shot apart the mod... so now we know to try to drill 32 degree slots in the tube for gaseous expansion... this is like the 4th time something like this happens... BUY PROTECTED BATTERIES!!! oh god.. he's got knicks on his hand from it lol

With an explosion like that, I think protected bats are more of a solution then a couple holes, But from now on I will have vent holes in my mods.

They are called protected batteries for a reason, now you know why. It sucks that it blew up, but live and learn. Always use protected batteries otherwise you are playing with a pipe bomb with no control over when it will go off.

Not sure holes in a mod would help in anyway, it wouldn't prevent a battery from exploding, it would just release any fumes out of the holes while it is exploding. and a battery exploding in there anyway will do more then just spew fumes out the holes. and see that hands n almost any mod cover most of the battery the vent would either be covered by the hand, or would spew the fumes out onto the hand. I don't think vents are the resolution, a Protected battery might be.

I bought some 14500 batteries on eBay from a place in China.Took a MONTH to arrive.They are TrustFire
900 mHa 3.6V....The ones I have been using are Trust Fire too,but they are blue colored. The ones I received from China are Grey????? I don`t see any writing on the grey ones that says "Protected"?????How do I know if they are are not????? Sure don`t want to have them blow up on me...ANy suggestions or answers greatly appreciated......Thanks!!!!!
