Nice vid Dogsbody.
How does the cartomizer hold the liquid without the filler? I could see a little light coming through the tiny hole on the bottom of the carto so I was wondering if liquid got into your mouth or spilled out of the vent holes. I inject the filler in my cartos because my filler seems to be glued to the sides and has this wick material tubing in the middle, it still spills out the bottom and gets in my mouth if I over fill. Is yours similar to what I described ?

Once you pull the filler out, you should be left with the inner 'sock' wrapped around the heating element, this goes from the top of the 'stem' back down to the bottom.
As there is no filler left, it is pretty difficult to suck juice up into your mouth, and I guess the airflow is going from the top of the 'stem' towards the top of the cart, so the juice is not in the way of the air-passage.
I never get juice in mouth this way.
Here is a very rough diagram. the stem stops the juice leaking from the bottom, the 'sock' wrapped around the element wicks it up from the bottom.




Some users have mentioned some brands of cartos are much more difficult than these ones to remove the filler from. I might make another vid using one of those cartos after I have a play with them.

Dogsbody, thanks for taking the time to draw a diagram and explaining it. As soon as I start tasting bad vapor from the carto i'm using now, i'm going to take mine apart and see if I can do it this way. My carto can hold about 12-13 drops before it starts leaking but I am guessing if I dont fill above the wicking sock it should hopefully be ok. I was thinking if the wicking sock and the outer case was longer, it might be possible to hold a few mils.

Tonight I pulled out my filler but the upper wicking sock came out also. I could still see the lower wick but when I put 6 drops in just to try, it leaked through the bottom holes. I think my carto is different because the wicking sock in mine is made up of 2 pieces (upper and lower) and the atomizer thing is pitiful looking. It consists of a few strands of wire coiled up that resembles the heating element of a standard light bulb only smaller. (now I know why cartomizers are so cheap) I am going to get real 510 cartos and try this again, the cartos I am using are for the smokestik and require a 4081 adapter to my 510 battery.

the cartos I used in the vid are KR808-D1's , yours do sound different. The 510's do work, but they are harder to pull the filler out without breaking the wire.

I might do a new vid showing a 510 carto, I have done a few of them to test and they work, but I did mess up the sock a bit and bent the wire on one so I just had to shove it back down with a toothpick.

It seems easier if they are wet too, so I might let one soak, then try it.

I have done this in the past just see how those things work and if it would vape good, but I was a bit nervous about putting that on 6 volts. I saw your section here and decided to try it. Wow! It takes what ever you put into and make it WOW vapor. I am very impressed at how long it lasts. Good job!
