Default 510 USB Pass-thru initial charge time??

So I just got my order in and my pass-thru is charging. My question is, how long before I can use it?? The Joyetech 510 (Joye 510) E-Cigarette Home Page said 8 hours on the regular wall charged battery, but it has a light letting you know as well.

I want to try this thing out!!! Lol, someone help! (please)

I don't know about yours, but I plugged mine in and used it, charged while I was using it I guess because when I unplugged it, it still worked.

I just got my 510 all so
and it came with no instruction for any thing.
I plug it in to the usb port and I can smoke while it is plug in but like you have not a clue as to how long it will take to charge.

The battery needs about 8 hours to be fully charged. But do your self a favor buy a real PT next time, after it breaks. This one comes with a nice thick high speed USB cable wire, and will not break, for under $25.00 with shipping.

eh, well mine works just fine. and i like that it looks like a regular 510 battery, just with a wire going away from it.
as far as the charging, i just plugged it in and started using it, and then let it charge overnight. I was mainly worried about not getting a good long charge on the battery for it's first charge, but it all worked out. I hardly ever take it out of the computer now that I have portable batteries.

I also have a PT for a 510/eGo kit. It never said anything in the instructions about initial charging. I just plugged it into the PC and used it. Later on I used it ( AC to USB ) and just continued.

Wow I posted this a year ago lol. What I was worried about was not cycle charging the battery correct.... kind of like when u first get a new cell phone and need to fully charge it and then let it die before charging again. I have two ego batteries now and I just let them fully charge one time before using. then just recharge every night. I try not to "top off" by constantly plugging and unplugging during the day to not short cycle.

Well these battery devices aren't really PT's as Smokie inferred. The USB port/cord is just powering a built-in charger, not the atty. FWIW Janty never calls it's eGo USB Battery a PT.

As far as Li-Ion cell longevity.
A lithium-ion battery provides 300-500 discharge/charge cycles. The battery prefers a partial rather than a full discharge. Frequent full discharges should be avoided when possible. Instead, charge the battery more often or use a larger battery. There is no concern of memory when applying unscheduled charges.
