    Default 510 Cartomizer

Just got some 510 cartomizers in to try and while the taste and vape seem very good, these things get so hot they will burn my lips. Also got the D1 cartomizers and a adapter for my 510 and they seem ok but the 510's get really really hot.

    Any idea's or suggestions?

What you using them with? I mean just 3.7v or more?

They usually do get pretty warm since there is no metal in between you and the atty inside.
Try and punch a hole in on of those rubber condom things (that came with cartoz) big enough for vapor to go thru and put it back on so it sort of works like an extra padding in between your lips and carto.

I would but the 510 soft cartos didn't come packaged with those on them. They come in single sealed bags. But you gave me some ideas

    Thanks

Default The 510 is NOT a 3.7 device

    Guys,

I saw this post while surfing to find some 510 cartos for my Ego. I saw below where some here assume that a 510 is a 3.7 volt rig when it really isn't. The 510 is 3.0-3.1. In the interest of continuing education for all us vapors I'd like to share the following post by Scottbee on ECF. I refer to him as our resident electronics guru

Scottbee told me later that many cartos run at 3 ohms but there are some like Vapor4Life Premiums and Vapor9 that run at 2.2 or so which are more closely matched to a 510 atty that also runs at 2.2. I bought some and am pretty happy with them (cavet below)

I bought some cartos from a vendor and like Sarge they burned my lips. I had to put a carto condom with a hole cut in it to try to get away from the heat. I was running around looking for 901 carts as someone said the tips would fit into a carto if modded. Sheez!!

I think that V4L has raised the ohms on their premiums some though. Peeps are complaining on the V4L forum that they too get hot. They seem to run hotter than the hard cap, regular ones. The premium soft caps - as they are called - have a soft rubber cap and no underlying silicone-like washer under it which makes more room for juice.

I bought some premium blanks from them and they are hot but not to the extreme. I do, however, have to get my lips to the extreme tip if I am taking several long tokes to get really good vape. I don't have a multimeter to check the ohms. It's coming from Ebay right now.

I'm luving me some cartos though. I fill using the juice in the condom from the bottom and Tyrin spin method. I can put 25 drops in for a refill and 30 in a blank. Mucho better than messing with carts

I hope this info helps my fellow vapers!!
