    Question 510 melting polyfill?

Ok so after using a kr808 for the past couple of months as my introduction to ecigs, i decided to pickup a 510 so i could expand my horizons lol, i like that it has a better flavor, but the TH is almost non existant, and when i pull the cartridge off, it seems that the filler material is hardening and melting is this normal? Or am I doing something wrong

    Thanks

Yup everyone had the burning fill problem
Just try direct drip into the atty 3-4drps.
TH will depend on juice and voltage

Something sounds wrong. An authentic Joye 510 should have more TH and less flavor than your cartos.

    Croom,
I hit my Precious-L for 3-5 second vapes and never had any problem with melting polyfill. I do see that the liquid gets dark in color on the tip of the polyfill but aside from that, as long as there is enough liquid in that polyfill, it should never burn or melt.

Try taking polyfill from different carts and using them with the 510. Also try the pen spring with the polyfill method, just make sure you stretch the spring so the liquid can flow and not get hung up if the spring wire is close together. With a little practice this is by far my favorite method if I have to use a cart.

Man, that polyfil is just NASTY!! Try the Marineland blu foam,
works great. I use the foam plug and love it. Never tried but heard the
    pyramid t-bag works well also.

I don't want to insult you, but you do realize that a 510 cart holds have the juice a carto does and a 510 uses more juice. Sounds like you are hitting it too fast and too often. I would suggest trying dripping to get the feel of the 510 and then packing carts. You have to keep a 510 very wet. You may have more luck with some of the cart mods suggested above

Didn't mean to insult you. i just was not sure of your knowledge level with standard attys. The only other thing I can think of is that the pollyfill is too dense in the cart. You could try pulling out the pollyfill and trimming some off and fluffing it up a bit and see how that works.

Croom, I stretch the spring and smash the width with pliers(if the spring is too wide and scrapes sides). The spring should be about 1/8th of an inch below the carts edge and the polyfill should be just a small amount only enough to cover the opening. The reason I stretch out the spring is, if you dont, the liquid doesn't pass between the coils. I have seen the entire middle empty and the sides full, but you do know the scientific explanation for this right ? That is why making the coils of the spring as far apart as possible works a lot better.

To adjust tension, just make the polyfill bulge just a little, the spring is stretched out and won't have much strength so it will compress quite easily. Like I have said before, with this technique the tip of the polyfill will become discolored but you can easily get rid of that during refills just by pressing it between a paper towel. Once you get the hang of this, it will work pretty good, tucking in the edges of the polyfill with a pointed tweezers is one tip I can give you, the rest you just have to experiment with.
