    Cool Joye 510 Questions

I just received my Joye 510 kit and liquids from elecro-nic-stix today. Let me start out by saying that this was the fastest shipping from any e-cig vendor I've ever experienced. The build quality of the 510 batteries, atomizers, and cartridges are great. The liquids taste awesome, and my overall impression of Jason Cornfeld's business is an A+. I even called Jason this morning and told him what I thought of his services, as I like to have suppliers know when they are appreciated. Now to the questions at hand. I am pleased overall with my 510 however, I'm unsure even after reading about atomizer break in. My vapor production is less than expected. I'm using a pass-through and the 510 (non-Joye) atomizer sold on electronicstix.com, as my batteries are going through their initial 8 hour charges. I'm getting good vapor production in comparison to the other e-cigs I own, but it seems to be about half the amount I see on videos of others using a 510 powered by battery. Like I stated before, I am using a pass-through so this seems quite odd. Do I have a faulty atomizer or is it standard that some produce less vapor than others? Am I still in the break in period? I've smoked 1 pre-filled cart and nearly 20-30 drops of liquid so far and one would think that the break in period would be ending, but in fact I'm getting less vapor than before. I just cleaned everything and blew out the atomizer, refilled cartridge, and dropped 2 on the atomizer. The vapor is that of which it was out of the box and no better... I am keeping the atty very wet by adding drops every 7-10 puffs. Can anyone shed light on this? I want to know if its a bad atomizer or simply break in time thats affecting vapor output. I bought the 510 because of the plumes of smoke I see from videos.

    Aloha uzisuicide,
I have a 510 kit from Jason also and like it very much. What you already did is correct, blowing out the atomizer from the back side where the battery connects to (this removes excess liquid or old dark colored liquid) then dropping 2 drops of liquid directly on the atomizer. Try taking a hit directly from the atomizer with no cart (just be careful not to get burned). If that works well then throw on a cart. Too much liquid makes for less vapor and when excess liquid keeps collecting, it does tend to turn darker and taste bad. Also the liquid you are using can make a big difference too. I press the button 1 second before inhaling to preheat the atomizer and hold it for at least 3-5 seconds while inhaling.

If you have a voltmeter handy, you can also check the ohms of the atomizer to see if it is in range and it is very simple to do. If you don't have one yet then please get one. It is a very cheap investment that I think most ecig users should get to save themselves from guess work and frustration. You can get one for under 20 bucks at sears or home depot and you will find uses for it around the house too. The ohms of the atomizer should be under 4 and be sure to use a setting of 20ohms and lower to get an accurate reading. 1 lead from the voltmeter goes to the center part of the atomizer on the bottom side where the battery connects to and the other lead goes to the threaded part. My Joye atty has about 2.7 ohms and none joyes are usually a little higher around 3.2- 4 ohms. As long as the ohms are not super high like 5 and over, it should still work. If this test is all good, then you have to check how many volts you are getting from your pass through.

I hope you can find a solution and you are 100% right about Jason's service. Awesome!!!!

well I tell people it normally takes a day for them to fully break in. but i only use the joye ones unless im vaping 6v as the expert 510 atomizers dont trip the protected cr2's. but back to your situation, you are using the expert 510 atomizer and the passthrough? just wondering.. and you also have to make sure those 5 volt passthroughs get enough voltage as they are 5v, and need to have over 1 amp to operate efficiently. now, i have also found.. that if you use an atomizer on 5 volts.. then take that same atomizer back to 3.7... it wont perform well..
