801 battery issues (Question)

All,

Does anyone else have the following issue?

I have an 801 setup w/2 batteries and a charger (my second charger). My batteries will not charge unless they are completely dead….

The light indicator on the charger shows green when I plug them in unless they are completely drained (blinking 5 times). When they are dead the light indicator on the charger shows red, then I get a good charge…

Are you using a charger that came with the kit, or another manufacturer's? You mentioned it is your second one, did the first one fail? You might have an issue with bad chargers from that manufacturer.

It sounds like the protection circuit is causing it not to charge. If it is from a different manufacturer that might be the cause, but they should be similar enough to be compatible. Can you add some more info about where it is from or some pictures to help determine what you are using?

Thanks for the reply Mike,

The charger was from VaporKings (both of them). I called them and that is what they were thinking as well. He sent me a replacement and I am having the same issue. The one I sent back they are saying there was no problem.
Nothing bad on VaporKings, They are a great company and I have received great service. Wondering if I may have received a bad batch. Bummer to wait to re-charge the 801 batteries....

I would try to get another battery and charger and try to isolate the problem. I have an 801 compatible be-112 as does a friend of mine. Both his chargers started acting up and I lent him mine and he was able to trace his problem to the chargers. His batteries would not light up the charger,( turn the light from green to red), on his but would on mine. Turned out our supplier had a bad batch of stuff.

If you don't have a passthru already I would recommend one. They're great for when you forget to charge batteries or don't want to change batteries all the time.

Yea, I have a few USB PT's.... 1 store bought and 2 DIY mods... Easy to make and around $3...
