Thumbs up Quit Vaping Over Night

OK, After 25 years of smoking I quit over night and started vaping for the last 8 months or so. 2 days ago I stopped vaping all together! I was vaping at 24mg and then dropped to 16mg over the last month. Let me tell you, I quit smoking cigarettes cold turkey before and it was tough, quitting vaping, is proving to be just as tough. Day 1 was kind of blurry and day 2 seems to be the same. Last night was horrible “tossing and turning” and today feels much like yesterday. To be honest, quitting vaping feels a lot like quitting smoking. I had anticipated this as I was replacing smoking with another nicotine device. Nicotine withdrawals will be the same with vaping as with smoking but without all the hacking (I assume)….

Maybe you should have kept lowering your nic level down to almost nothing before quitting? Thats what I'm trying to do is get mine down to 0 nic at some point.

Most people have better success by lowering the nicotine content. Maybe it's the oral fixation or just the habit. Try some 0mg for a bit and see if that helps. Good luck!

I have gone from 36mg to 24-26mg to 12mg and now down to 0-6. I know my body can feel it as I feel terrible and irritable but I know for myself that I do have to one day get down to zero. I am vaping double the juice now at 6mg than I was before, 30 mls a week is like eating candy and is no where near enough. After 3 months I continue to do my best and I have not cheated even once to smoke an analog and I am damn proud of that.

Try going lower and lower till you don't need nicotine, better than going insane.

    Aloha, Keith

    Oh nice,
Ya I also think that gradually lowering nic would of been an easier way
But than once again we all different

Over a year later and Im still stuck at 18mg... I dont think Im going to cut on nic for a while, but I had def cut on the amount of juice I go thru... By a lot...

Only just. lol I keep trying to go less and less, but I love the flavors. I'm a hookah smoker, too. If it didn't taste so damn good--especially since I'm getting my taste buds back--I might go lower and lower. Just too many flavors I haven't tried, yet. I'm glad to be done with analog cigs, but I think I'm gonna be vaping for a long time, by choice.

When lowering the mg; it required me to vape more to feed the dark shadow that has been following me closely over the past 25 years. This torture is exactly why I decided to quit vaping all together, I needed to be set free from this addiction. I was indeed feeling much better when switching to vape from analogs and the senses started to come back (so I thought)!! I am now on day 3 and I have spent 1 day with a minor hack, lungs feeling tight in the chest and now.... I can breathe so so much better!. My constant runny nose and dried nasal passages are now moist and clear, I am noticing a rich smell and taste already. My mind seems to be more clear and I feel like I have control once again over my life. The nicotine urges have seemed to taper off for now however; I am now prepared for them, they do not seem to be as close together as they were the first two days.

Well if you look at it that if you lower you nic juice that you will vap more and more to feed that dark shadow well do that then after time will pass you wont need to fill that dark shadow as much since your nic would be lower ...then when you drop down to 0mg from lets say that lower 4 or 6mg nic vap on the 0mg for a wial for the metal portion of the habit then after some time pass then you will have no more nic in you thus making the withdrawl symptoms less and less noticeable then after all this try to stop vaping might be alittle easier to do since at this point you wont have a nicotine habit because you would be down to 0mg and you would just have to pass the mental hand to mouth movment

I wish the best of luck to you buddy you will get through it i hope you will kick this habbit for good as i know friend that are fighting habbits of there own if you catch my drift.
    peace,

I am lowering my nicotine also and I tend to vape almost constantly, but that is okay with me as I love the different flavors. Good luck to you!!

Thanks for the posts! We are all in this together

OK, Day six & all is well.... Feeling wonderful, no crabs, urges are far and few between and the weekend was not bad at all. Sleeping has returned and the morning routine change is now easy with no need for a drag... The weekends are typically tough as I like to reward myself with a few drags after each project and or when I’m thinking about tackling a project. It was surprisingly easy not to go for the nicotine as the urge is now very manageable. I think this was due to the quick cutoff…. I had to make it through a few tough days ~ The 1st 2 days were pretty easy as I had a buzz from the nicotine drop off (mind freaking out) and day 3 and 4 were the only days with large cravings. Day 5 and 6 were getting used to the idea of being nicotine free and just cruising through the day not thinking about much as us typical men do anyway…
