Default How has Vaping helped you?

I have herd allot of stories on how ecigs have changed peoples lives for the better. I would really like to hear more. As far as my own experience I have been vaping for 3 years. I used to be a pack and a half per day smoker for 18 years and for the last three years I have been smoke free. I mostly smoked non-filter cigarettes or Marlboro reds. I made the transition to using ecigs over the course of a week. I first heard about them from my wife. She had stumbled accross them online and started pushing me to try them so after about a month of resistance I finally caved. She was constantly harassing me to give them a shot because I had a chest x-ray done with contrast that showed the tar build up on my lungs. Here is a copy of the X-ray from 2004.
I now feel great and had another x-ray done this year.

I am now a much happier person since most of the tar was able to shed before causing permanent damage. It is not very easy to tell but there is a little Lung damage on the inner wall by the sternum and at the very bottom of my lungs but the Dr. stated that It should heal over time as long as I keep away from cigarettes. He was as pleased with my results almost as much as I was. He now refers allot of people to give ecigs a try if they just can't quit by other methods that are approved. Since E-cigs are not approved as a quit smoking device he will not recommend them until all other forms has failed then he will suggest them as an alternative. So, enough about me. How have these helped you? If you have any x-rays please share them as I would be real interested in seeing how they compare with my results. Also share your experience. There are allot of new vapors out there who are still on the edge and these entries may answer allot of the questions they may have swimming in their heads. If you are new to vaping I encourage you to stick with it and not worry about just setting the cigarettes down. Some people take longer to make the transition and some still smoke a few cigarettes from time to time but every cigarette you avoid is a help.
    Happy Vaping

Here's my x-rays. I'll post again in a couple of years and let you know what they look like then. lol

This was taken December 3, 2009. I had to get a x-ray for a TB test. Back in the summer of 2001 I was 15 and I got pneumonia. So there is some scarring from that in my lungs.

I was a two pack plus a day smoker and quit cold turkey with a silver bullet w 510 atty from Rob at Altsmoke. I have never felt better and I am climbing hills hunting like I did 20 years ago. I tried them all, patches ,chantix, nic inhalers, gum, and welbutrin. Even if they helped me quit they still left me semi homicidal to my friends and family. Vaping is the best thing that has happened for my health (mental & physical) Anybody that smokes cigarettes owes it to themselves to give this an honest try

Best e-cig forum post of all time. I feel this should be made sticky so we can track REAL results! Thank you for taking time and money to have things like this done.

Not meaning to speak for someone else but Steve "smilin" Milin (Vapor 4 Life) , smoked 4-5 packs of Cools a day up until about a year ago. He's beyond 1 year of vaping and quit $700/mo in asthma meds cold.

I certainly notice some increased energy but the thing my Dr. has noticed is an improvement in my blood oxygen level. In the past they always had me take a deep breath when they checked it to get it up to where it needed to be. Not any more.

Default "how it has helped me"

Now I have only been smoke free for a little over 2 weeks.
Smoked about a pack a day.

    1) I can smell and do smell better
    2) My complexion looks MUCH better.
    3) My Gym work-out are WAY better.
    4) I swear the wrinkles on my face are less.
5.) I look into my wallet and see this funny green stuff that seems to stay in there now.
6.) It's saved me time and gas money. No more stopping at the store 2 to 3 times a week.
(Not buying but 1or 2 packs at a time was a way to get me to not smoke as much and I wouldn't allow myself to make a special trip just for cigs LOL Although I could get real creative at times as why I had to go out LOL)
7.) Ego boost. I can look at that pack and a 1/2 and SMILE. It doesn't control me.
8.) Just going up flights of stairs
    9.) I am sleeping better

I can honestly say smell MUCH better! Breathe easier, I dont wake up in the morning and cough myself into a near puking frenzy anymore. The money I save is incredible, I have more energy my self esteem has gone up, but for some reason, when I am getting gas, when I pull away from the pump, there is always this feeling like I am forgetting something.. lol and of course that is going into the station and buying smokes.. its a good forgetful thing.. lol

Vaping has no doubt saved me money, gave me more quality in my life, and perhaps saved my life period.

    Good thread, keep it up!

I smoked at least 2 packs a day (prolly more like 3 now that i think about it) for the last 20 years and quit the day my 510 arrived in the mail.

I don't even feel like i gave anything up, vaping has been more satisfying for me than smoking has been in a long time.

Incredible product and I am glad I gave them a shot.
