Default Stopping lurking and introducing myself

    Hello all!

Here is a quick rundown of my start in the vaping world. In Feb I was talking with a good friend of mine and he mentioned that 1 of his co-workers had something called an e-cig and they were using it in the office. I was intrigued and asked if he could get a me a URL from his co-worker so that I could check it out. The next day he sent me the URL to Totally Wicked. I was AMAZED! I spent all my free time for the next few days researching and watching video's. Most of the video's I watched were done by Scott or Igotcha69. I was convinced, now to convince my 2 pack of analogs a day girlfriend. Amazingly and happily she was excited to try, but seriously doubted the effectiveness. We talked and went over the options and we decided to both get 901 starter kits with an extra pack of atty's and a 30ml bottle of 18mg tobacco juice from TW. After a few anxious days of waiting it was FINALLY here, just to find out we had to charge the batteries first. Finally that night my first vape. If I didn't know that you need to break in an atty and get past the primer fluid, that might have ended it for me. I did keep going and I finally started to get good flavor and vapor. I was hooked! Now my nature of wanting to buy everything started to kick in, but thanks to my GF's wise tempering it was limited to just getting parts that made the 901 more useful and convieniant. Those first weeks were quite a learning curve, figuring out why it wasn't producing vapor, how long the battery life was, cartridge life, telling the difference between and empty cart, dead batt, flooded atty. Finally the passthru arrives, love it. The PCC's arrive, yay carging batts on the go and a cleaner easier way to carry carts. This worked fine for a while, but I had continued my online information gathering. I watched more video's than I could count. The main reviewer I really liked was Grimmgreen. Don't get me wrong, there are quite a few exelant reviewers out there and I soaked in as much as I could from them all. By now I new I had to have a big battery mod. I wanted them all! Of course I am not independantly welthy so that meant 1 mod. Finally I settled on a black Silver Bullet. I went to altsmoke and put in my pre-order and waited for what felt like an eternaty. While I was there I noticded the KR808D was the same connection as the 901. I really wanted to try out cartomizers. Rob was very patient and helpful and explained that the thread connection is the same except for the air holes, aka, a KR batt will use a 901 atty perfectly, but a 901 batt need an adapter for airflow. I used this justification to buy a KR808 PCC starter kit with an extra batt and the passthru, Two 5 packs of cartomisers and my first foray into none tobacco flavored ejuice. I love the longer battery life and the ease of the cartomizers and large capacity of ejuice. Now it is all I recommend for those starting out. I swear I now sound like an e-cigg salesman, I have gotten at least 10 of my friend to buy e-ciggs and they are loving them to. I have been completely off of analogs for almost a month now and my GF is down from 2 packs a day to 2 analogs a day! After my BSB arrived I loved it so much that I bought her a BB. Now it is almost like our pv's are extensions of our hands, we can't put them down!

I feel so much BETTER! I can actuallty breath now and my senses of taste and smell have returned. I believe that vaping saved me from a smoking related death. Nothing I had tried to use to stop smoking had worked and I had resigned myself to the fact that smoking would probably kill me one day, but not any more! I know I have not saved any money yet though. I already am planning my next mod purchase, something with an auto juice system. I think that I have spent about $700.00 in the last 3 months, I now have so many flavors of juices I can't believe it and now I want to try my hand at making my own. What is wrong with me? Will it ever be enough? Probably not, but I am ok with that. I'm loving every minute of it. From the next mod I have to have, to the next ejuice I have to try, to the powered USB hub with passthru's making my "nerd huka" on my coffee table, my life has been changed for the better.

I leave you on the immortal words of Grimmgreen,

    Keep On Vaping!

    Jason aka inquisitorj

Jason, welcome to the forum. I read your story and you are not alone. Your feelings and experiences are similar to what a lot of people here went through. I am now an obsessed maniac trying to find the ultimate vaping mod, longest lasting cart and battery, best juice etc. My hookah pipe now sits in the corner collecting dust as I am almost at the 2 month mark of total freedom from analogs (3 packs a day). My next goal is to lower the nicotine gradually until I am down to zero or 6, right now 24 is the lowest I can handle.

Keep spreading the word because almost anything is better than going back to analogs !!!!

I am right there with you. I have my SB on the way, and hope that will hold me over for a month or better. From what I hear and read/watch it is normally the goto device people have in their arsenal.

    Thanks for sharing your story.
