Smile New to forum and E-cigs

Not sure I did this right. Hello to all. I'm new to this and have been reading here, so I'm asking what the best thing to start with is? I have never seen these before or know anyone who has used one, but I really need to quit cigarettes. All help appreciated. Thank you.

Well, u could have started your own introduction thread but all is good welcome to Nu-Vapor!

you will find most ppl will recommend a "Joye 510" or "510 kit".. a 510 kit will run u anywhere from $30 and up depending on where u shop so be sure to look around or ask.. if u wanna start out with something a little more sexier u could look at the "ego" or "hello-16" aka "f-16" or "the riva" or "tornado" lol (all basically the same device sold by several different companys).. they work with 510 atomizers and have a much longer lasting battery (plus looks good) hehe..

and dont forget to get u some good e-juice, do a lot of research on the forums and on youtube and you will be on your way!!.. check out some of the suppliers here in the forums if you'd like, as there all pretty safe to do business with..

Hey Jet! So.... I moved your post and turned into an introduce yourself thread

Um.. Well if your are not sure if you'll like vaping (tho Im sure you will ) Go with a cheap 510 kit. (510 is just an atomizer type, one of the most popular out there. Atomizer is the part of the ecig that makes vapor)
Ha ha I dont know how new are you so Im trying to make some sort of sense

But if you do feel more strongly about vaping and wanting to quit or decrease smoking, I agree with YouFou Get a Joye EGO. A few vendors on our website have them.
Ego is pretty small, well built and an all included device. It is IMHO the best starter you can get... Ugh wish they had those when I started vaping... ha ha

And yes yes do research! Ask on questions forums!

    Also check out this site:

They got some basic e-cig info and collection of most mods that are out there.

Lmfao Mit I couldn't resist this one, you called YuckFou YouFou, now he's gonna be Pucking Fissed

Oh yea, before I forget, welcome to the forum Jet . I too would stick to something in the 510 family because it is the most popular, puts out good vapor and has the most accessories made for it. 510 refers to the thread type of the atomizer and battery. I would also get some cartomizers to start with along with some liquid in a flavor that you think you might enjoy.

Do some browsing in here before you make a decision. Once you have made a decision, see who has the lowest price on what you want and don't forget that most of them also have a coupon code for an additional discount. If you are not sure on something and cannot find an answer on the forum, if it is product related to a specific company, you can post a question in that particular suppliers section. If it is not specific to a certain supplier, just ask it in the ecig help section that way more people will see it and give you some answers.

ROFLMAO Keith you ever sleep dude?

    Welcome Jet!
Like everyone is saying 510 thats what I started with(Yeti 510 kit from AltSmoke)
The Ego/Riva/Tornado/F16 was not available when I started and that would be a good choice
with longer battery life do some research them. 1 kit has a higher Mah rating on the batteries(=longer run time)

Get some sample juices to try out. Not sure what your looking for in flavor most who start out want a tobacco flavor.
mg strength depends on how heavy a smoker you are. I was 1 1/2 pack/day I went with the high strength mg juices to start(26-36mg)
within a week I dropped analog smokes back on NOV 5th 2009!

Good luck Jet keep asking question the folks here are nice and will help if they can!

Thanks so much to all of you. This seems like a really good place, honesty, don't find that most places. Funny, you won't believe how I found this place, I was checking on a package stuck in New York with USPS. Started reading some of the sites and this one came up when I was seeing what a Precious-L was. The name had me wondering what the heck were these people talking about! LOL Believe it or not, I haven't heard of E-cigarettes. I definitely need to do this. Smoking is driving me crazy and it costs a fortune now. If anyone knows of the good prices on the 510 let me know. I will try to research them also. Does it really help quit smoking and does it keep the urge to smoke away? I usually quit cold turkey. Can't get my mind in that mode right now. If anyone has good results and wants to pass them on, send them this way. I will have to look and see if we have any of these in Oklahoma. Thanks again everyone.

well the best 510s ive found at the cheapest price possible were from "strictly E-juice".. check them out i think there like 30$ with free shipping or something.. however, i dont recommend the chinese dekang juice they sell, so i would go elsewhere and get u some good e-juice.. maybe a tobacco flavor from AVE-Juice or sumthin.. lol theres so many choices to choose from, just shop around and find something u like... u sound like the perfect candidate for an e-cig considering youve been able to quit cold turkey in the past.....

i recommend u check out this cool video from truelove and watch how he converts a random smoker off the street to e-cigs - VapeTV: Truelove

that should give u an idea on how awesome these can work 4 ya..

    Jet,

Finding this site by accident and wanting to quit cigs could be sign. Take it from me, I was a 3 pack per day smoker for almost 27 years. I have watched 2 uncles die from lung cancer in the last 6 months and it wasn't a pretty sight. Talk about a slow painful way to die, watching them constantly press the morphine button, gasping for air with the oxygen tubes in their noses, hair falling out from chemo therapy and unable to eat any food. After witnessing the last uncle to die, I decided it was time for me to make a change.

I bought myself a 510 and set my mind to quit cold turkey. I gathered up all the ashtrays and lighters in the house and dumped them. I packed up every single carton of cigs I had laying around and gave them to my parents since we smoked the same brand. I'm not going to lie, it was hard and every time I ate something, I craved a cigarette. Coffee in the morning wasn't the same, taking a crap without a cig sucked, driving without it was agonizing, but somehow I never cheated even once.

I tried quitting before, about 3 years ago when ecigs first started selling online, I bought and tried every one that amazon.com sold. None of them were satisfying and after trying off and on for 6 months, I gave up trying completely. A year later I tried again with another NJOY, smokingeverywhere and some no name brand and once again gave up due to frustration from inferior products.

Fast forward to March of 2010 when I bought my first 510 kit with mega batteries, this time at least the batteries didn't crap out, they didn't hold a charge as long as I would of liked but they at least did a decent job. Prior to this I was lurking in 4 ecig forums and after reading many posts, I decided that the 510 being the most praised and popular was the one for me. Once got into the ecig habit and felt I could stick with this, I bought myself a mod with batteries that can last 3 days called the Precious-L and the rest is history.

I now have zero cravings for a cigarette. Vaping has become second nature and I now I am finally free of of that nasty old habit we call smoking. Trust me man, you have to want to quit first or nothing you do will make you quit. Second, you have to get a device that is reliable, has a decent lasting battery and start with some cartomizers to avoid the constant refilling frustration. You also need to find a flavor of liquid that most closely resembles the flavor and nic of the cig you are smoking now in order to make that transition.

Once you get into the ecig habit, then you can start experimenting with Low Resistance atomizers, different flavors of liquid, usb Pass Throughs etc. It becomes a way of life and then one day you will realize that you don't have any more cigarette cravings. After that, the rest is gravy.

Hope you will decide to join us and I promise we will help you as much as possible.

    Aloha, Keith

Great information, thank you. I know about cancer, not from smoking, my Mom has had lymphoma twice and breast cancer and it has drained her. She is still alive at 73 but not like I thought it would be. Sick alot, not energy, zapped. I had stopped for probably 17 or so years and for some personal problems started again. Not a good reason! Sorry to hear about your uncles, but it is a wake up call. Thanks for informing me on the Precious L! I thought I was really missing out on something. That is too funny. That is one of the things that caught my eye to come to this site. LOL! Where would I find one. I have Googled it but no luck. Good luck with your no smoking anymore! You can do it! Have a great weekend.
