    Default hello there

Just thought I would introduce myself. I go by the name of Rose and I am not totally new to vaping. I used to live in Canada and recently separated from my husband (mutual and amicable decision, long pondered and the best thing for both of us. We are still and shall remain very good friends). I know live in North Carolina with my sister and her husband.

When my husband and I were vacationing in the Dominican Republic a kid (10 year old boy, of all people) told me about electronic cigarettes which I had never heard of before. When I got back, lo and behold, the store I worked in was selling them. I bought one but it wasn't very good and then the selling ban hit in Canada so went online.

My first was an M501/401 kit that I got from electronic-cigz dot com which I was happy with (Sean was great to deal with) and I also got a dse-901 from eastmall dot net. LOVED the 901. Eastmall was also good to deal with but nerve-wracking having the package go through customs.

Anyway, I was not as motivated to quit the analogs as I should have been and what with the separation, I gave myself permission to smoke as much as I dang well wanted to.

When I moved to NC, the only other smoker was my brother-in-law who decided we should not smoke everywhere in the house so made us a smoking room and I adjusted to that surprisingly easily.

Then I decided I wanted to quit completely but the problem is I like smoking. I like nicotine. Sooooooo, tried the stupid lozenges and those things made me sick. The patch was out as I am allergic to the adhesive and, like I said, I like smoking.

Surprisingly, a local gas station had advertised Gamucci disposable e-cigs, so I bought a couple of those and they were surprisingly good. I was very surprised.

I wound up ordering a 501 kit from madvape dot com for a very good price and some other add on goodies. I may order another just because the prices is so good and really, slightly cheaper than ordering extra attys, batteries etc.

Tried to get the brother-in-law to use the e-cig but it was a no go. He tried but it just didn't seem to do the trick. Also, he is in school right now so altering his habits now may not be such a good idea.

Next up is figuring out which of the uber-e-cigs all you guys seem to have that I would like to invest in. I am not an electrical engineer and don't know ohms from olives so all that stuff doesn't mean much to me.

This forum seems to have a nice group of people on it and is not as overwhelming as some of the others.

    Take care.

Hi Rose! IM also in NC and I quit using ecigs. The 510 and smoke 51 duo helped me kick the main habit, but every once in a while I would try to enjoy an anlolog. It got to the point where d bum a smoke and hand it rt back. Now, a year later (on the 22nd it will be one year-woot!) I have found myself not only cig free, but completely crave-free as well. Everyone does it different, but the less real cigs the better...your on the right track! Just line up ur will power and educate urself daily w smoking diseases and that should help you from defaulting.

Welcome to the forum and hope to see ya at a NC vapers meeting someday! Im in the triad area (gboro, winston salem, high point area in kville)

    Welcome Rose,
I lurked in all the forums before I chose to start joining in here for the same reasons as you did. The people here are friendly, they always try and help when ever possible and the forums are a lot less chaotic and overwhelming than the others. Don't worry about not understanding certain aspects of the ecig, there are many people here who can explain what you need to know as you go along.

As for your brother in law, get him a dependable big battery mod and cartomizers with some high nicotine to start. If the vapor is powerful enough and the nicotine adequate, he may be able to at least stick with it long enough for him to like it.

Don't hesitate to ask if you cannot find answers on what ever you want to know, there are a lot of us here who read every single post and try to help where ever we can.

    Aloha, Keith
