Aloha and welcome Hoyt,
I hope you did not get the wrong impression of me just from reading 1 post about the free giveaway, there is way more to it that you probably did not read. If you did read them all and still feel that way then I am very sorry but I hope you will at least give me the chance to see who I really am. If you do then you might realize that I am not a bad guy after all and I really hope you will find it in your heart to do so. I do not expect you to believe everything I have to say as even I learned long ago that respect is earned and not just given.
Ps, I am a 5th generation Hawaii born male who surfed and fished all his life from age 12 (40's now), well I started boogey boarding at age 6 but that doesn't really count.
Anyways, about the locals and the beach statement, I for one do not give tourists or outsiders any "attitude" when they show up at "local" beach spots, in fact I try to make them feel safe and look out for them. For me and my friends it is more of the "give respect get respect" motto that we go by, the same as we would hope to get when we go to the mainland and are in the same situation. Just wanted to let you know that most of us true locals are not like that at all. That is the true "Aloha Spirit" most of us here live by. I for one will and often do go out of my way to help someone in need here, especially a tourist.
Peace and Aloha,
Keith

Welcome to the forum! Hope you enjoy your stay here and be sure to come in the video chat and hang out!
I'm awesome.

Keith overlook me as I was having a pretty bad week and the subject rubbed me wrong, I hold nothing against you for speaking your mind, hell that is why my week was and still kinda is bad, I spoke my mind at work. One toke over the line and some one opened the floor for me and I lost my composure, doubt things will be the same. Then came here and saw this and just crawled on me.
Either way I would have probably done the same thing you did given the circumstances.
Aloha buddy Aloha
Hey Hoyt,
We all have bad days or even weeks so I do understand you bro, no hard feelings man.Even I spent the past 2 weeks in court and in my lawyers office for something that was not even my fault. So yeah, I even know what a bad month feels like
.
I hope you choose to stay because I truly believe this place to possess the most down to earth, kind and generous people.
Aloha and E' komo mai (make yourself at home),
